Finding a pediatrician
Pediatric clinics (소아과 or 소아청소년과) are common in residential areas. Most accept walk-ins during business hours.
Describing your child's symptoms
Be specific about when symptoms started, temperature readings, and any changes in eating or sleeping patterns.
Vaccinations
Korea has a national vaccination schedule. Most vaccinations for children are free at public health centers (보건소).
When to go to the ER
Go to the emergency room if your child has a high fever (over 39°C) that doesn't respond to medicine, difficulty breathing, or signs of dehydration.
Tip
소아과 (so-a-gwa) is the pediatrics department. For children's emergencies at night, search for 야간 소아 진료 (nighttime pediatric care) in your area.
